Education: A Road Map for Y-DNA

Y-DNA is a unique type of DNA that is passed down from fathers and tracks the paternal lineage.  In many cultures, it tracks the surname lineage.

Would you like to learn how to use Y-DNA in your own research?

December 8th (Dec 9 in some parts of the world) is your chance to learn from expert Elena Fowler!  Classes will be limited to 35 people, so you will have plenty of time for questions and answers.  The class is offered live via Zoom at two different times (noon & 7 PM Pacific) to accommodate schedules.  Recordings will be available for 2 weeks afterwards to those who have registered.  Closed captioning is available.

This is the second in a series of new educational opportunities and is a fundraiser for Te Ira Tangata Māori DNA FTDNA project.  The speaker fee will be donated to the project.

Register now!

Check local times for Session 1 and Session 2.

    1. It’s meant to help both beginners and intermediates advance to the level. And if you’re already advanced but don’t realize it, it’ll be a great review!

    2. Oops, I didn’t answer your other question! The talk itself will be about 45 minutes of speaker time, with pauses at set intervals for questions. Total length will depend on how many questions there are. I expect it to last an hour to an hour and a half.
